Egyptian manufacturing technology company Simplex has opened its second production facility in 10th of Ramadan City, marking a major milestone in its growth strategy. The company has invested $50 million in the new factory to expand its Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine manufacturing capacity and support rising demand from both local and international markets.

The inauguration ceremony brought together government officials, investors, diplomats, and business leaders. Egypt’s Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk attended the event alongside Simplex founders Ahmed Shaaban and Mohamed Mansour. During the ceremony, the company also laid the foundation stone for a third factory, signaling continued expansion plans.

The new production facility covers an area of 40,000 square meters. Company officials said the factory will significantly increase manufacturing output and strengthen Egypt’s position as a growing center for industrial technology and advanced manufacturing.

Founded in 2013, Simplex specializes in the design, assembly, and manufacturing of CNC machines. These machines are widely used in industrial production because they allow manufacturers to automate cutting, drilling, shaping, and other precision operations. CNC technology plays an important role in industries such as automotive manufacturing, construction, engineering, and metal fabrication.

During the inauguration, Simplex unveiled several new CNC machines carrying the “Proudly Made in Egypt” label. The company said the products reflect its commitment to increasing domestic manufacturing capabilities while reducing reliance on imported industrial equipment.

The expansion comes as demand for advanced manufacturing technology continues to rise across regional and international markets. Businesses are increasingly investing in automation and precision manufacturing tools to improve productivity, efficiency, and product quality.

Simplex also announced new partnership and agency agreements in Jordan and Kuwait. The deals are expected to strengthen the company’s presence across the Middle East and support its strategy of expanding into new export markets.

The latest development follows a successful funding round completed in January 2025. The company secured $13 million in financing led by Saudi Arabia’s National Industrial Development Centre. The investment provided additional resources to accelerate production growth, market expansion, and technology development.

Over the past decade, Simplex has transformed from a university graduation project into one of Egypt’s leading industrial technology companies. The business now serves more than 4,500 customers across 34 countries spanning Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

The company currently employs more than 400 people and has generated cumulative sales exceeding $100 million since its founding. Approximately 15 percent of its production is exported to international markets, and management aims to increase that figure as manufacturing capacity expands.

Industry experts view the company’s growth as an example of how local innovation can contribute to industrial development and economic diversification. The expansion supports Egypt’s broader efforts to strengthen domestic manufacturing and increase exports of high-value industrial products.

According to company officials, the new investments are expected to create more than 1,000 direct jobs. In addition, the expansion could generate more than 10,000 indirect employment opportunities through suppliers, logistics providers, distributors, and supporting industries.

The project is also expected to contribute to technology transfer and workforce development by creating opportunities for engineers, technicians, and skilled manufacturing professionals. As production increases, the company plans to continue investing in training and technical expertise to support long-term growth.

Simplex believes its expanded manufacturing footprint will help meet rising customer demand while enhancing Egypt’s reputation as a producer of advanced industrial equipment. The company’s leadership said the combination of increased production capacity, regional partnerships, and export growth will position the business for continued expansion in the years ahead.

The Simplex CNC Factory Expansion represents one of the latest investments aimed at strengthening Egypt’s industrial sector. With a growing customer base, new production facilities, and expanding international partnerships, the company is seeking to play a larger role in the global manufacturing technology market while creating jobs and supporting economic development at home.
