Gulf Egypt for Hotels and Tourism has announced a major integrated hospitality project in Sharm El Sheikh as it marks 50 years of operating in Egypt. The new development is expected to strengthen the country’s tourism industry, attract new investment, and support the long-term goals of Egypt Vision 2030.
The company said the project will involve investments of more than EGP 20 billion. The large-scale destination is designed to combine luxury hospitality, residential living, wellness, entertainment, and leisure facilities within a single master-planned community.
The development will cover about 354,458 square meters and include nearly 750 meters of natural sandy beachfront. It is located just a few minutes from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport and close to the city’s conference and event facilities, making it attractive for both leisure and business travelers.
The project was introduced with the support of the Egyptian Presidency and the Tourism Development Authority. During the launch, Gulf Egypt signed a cooperation protocol with Al Montazah Tourism & Investment Company. The agreement follows Gulf Egypt’s acquisition of the project land after an extended planning and evaluation process.
Major General Sameh Shoaib, Executive Managing Director of Al Montazah Tourism & Investment Company, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to expanding tourism opportunities in Sharm El Sheikh. He added that both organizations aim to support modern tourism infrastructure that benefits investors, visitors, and the local economy.
To strengthen planning and development, Gulf Egypt also signed agreements with HVS and JLL. HVS will provide hospitality market research, feasibility studies, and advisory services. JLL will support economic studies, master planning, and development strategy to ensure the project follows international standards.
The signing ceremony was attended by Gulf Egypt Chief Executive Officer Tarek Elshazly, HVS President for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia Hala Matar Choufany, JLL Egypt Country Head Ayman Sami, and several company representatives and advisors.
Tarek Elshazly said the new destination reflects Gulf Egypt’s long-term strategy of developing integrated tourism communities that combine hospitality with mixed-use investment opportunities. He said the company aims to create sustainable projects that strengthen Egypt’s tourism sector while attracting international visitors and investors.
Hala Matar Choufany said Sharm El Sheikh continues to demonstrate strong potential as a global leisure destination. She noted that growing confidence from investors and hospitality operators is helping expand the city’s international appeal. According to HVS, projects of this size can improve both tourism capacity and the global profile of the destination.
Ayman Sami said careful planning supported by detailed market research is essential for successful tourism developments. He explained that JLL will apply international planning standards to help create a competitive and sustainable destination that meets future market demand.
According to Gulf Egypt, the development will include a luxury bay-front hotel, two branded residential communities, and the first internationally branded beach club in Sharm El Sheikh. The beach club is expected to become one of the destination’s main attractions by hosting entertainment events and social activities throughout the year.
The project will also feature wellness facilities, leisure attractions, restaurants, and lifestyle services operated by specialized hospitality partners. These facilities are intended to serve both residents and visitors while expanding the variety of tourism experiences available in Egypt.
Company officials said the current master plan is the result of extensive technical, economic, and tourism studies completed by local and international experts. As additional land was incorporated into the project, Gulf Egypt and its partners reviewed the overall design to maximize its long-term economic and community benefits.
All major planning studies have now been completed, and the Sharm El Sheikh Project has entered the final approval stage before construction begins. Once completed, the destination is expected to become one of Egypt’s largest integrated hospitality developments, supporting tourism growth, creating new investment opportunities, and strengthening Sharm El Sheikh’s position as a leading international travel destination.
