    Major Blackout Hits Paris

A widespread outage left tens of thousands of Parisian homes without power early Thursday.
The blackout initially affected 55,000 households across Paris and the neighbouring Hauts-de-Seine region.
The outage also disabled traffic lights and streetlights, creating disruptions across several districts.
Some metro services and suburban train lines stopped operating during the interruption.
Enedis reported that the blackout lasted about five minutes before power returned to most areas.
A few thousand homes remain without electricity as crews continue repairs.

    Cause Identified by Grid Operators

Enedis attributed the incident to a technical failure at an RTE substation in Issy-les-Moulineaux.
RTE oversees France’s high-voltage electricity transmission network and manages major infrastructure sites.
The malfunction triggered the unexpected shutdown that rippled across the regional grid.

    Operators Respond to Disruptions

Enedis issued an apology to affected residents for the inconvenience caused by the outage.
Technicians continue working to restore service to the remaining homes still experiencing power loss.
Authorities plan to review the incident to prevent similar failures from occurring again.
