President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met the head of the World Travel and Tourism Council to discuss stronger Egypt Tourism Cooperation and investment in the country’s travel sector. The talks focused on raising visitor numbers, improving tourism services, and building better infrastructure for future growth.
The meeting included Tourism and Antiquities Minister Sherif Fathy and senior WTTC leaders. Gloria Guevara, Nick Adams, Audrey Hendley, Paolo Barletta, and Eihan Bektas joined the discussions. They reviewed plans to expand Egypt Tourism Cooperation and build stronger global travel partnerships.
WTTC officials announced a major event called the Global Leaders Journey. It will bring 270 senior executives from top global travel companies. They will travel on a cruise through the Suez Canal and visit different Egyptian cities and ports.
Officials said the cruise shows strong global trust in Egypt’s tourism sector. They added that investors see Egypt as a safe and growing travel market with strong future potential.
During the meeting, US envoy Nick Adams delivered greetings from US President Donald Trump. He also said the United States wants to increase tourism exchange with Egypt and support stronger travel links.
El-Sisi said Egypt aims to attract 30 million tourists every year. He explained that the government is working to improve airports, hotels, roads, and transport services to reach this goal. He also said Egypt Tourism Cooperation is key to long-term growth.
He added that stability and security are very important for tourism success. He promised full government support for international tourism events and global partnerships hosted in Egypt.
Egypt is increasing efforts to boost tourism income, which is one of its main sources of foreign currency along with Suez Canal revenue, exports, and remittances. The government sees tourism as a key driver of jobs and income across the country.
