Egypt and Uzbekistan have started new talks to grow travel and tourism links between the two countries. The main focus is to make travel easier, cheaper, and more attractive for tourists. Officials met in Cairo to discuss new ways to boost cooperation in the tourism sector.

The meeting was held at the embassy of Uzbekistan in Cairo. It included tourism representatives from Egypt and private travel sector leaders. A key topic was the launch of charter flights between Tashkent and Cairo. These flights are expected to reduce ticket prices and increase passenger flow.

Both sides said better air connections can support stronger tourism growth. Direct flights would remove long transit routes and reduce travel time. This would also make Uzbekistan more accessible for Egyptian tourists and Egypt more attractive for visitors from Central Asia.

At present, travel costs between the two countries are high. Air tickets from Egypt to Uzbekistan range from 600 to 1200 US dollars. This price makes the route less competitive compared to popular destinations in Europe and Southeast Asia. Officials said lowering flight costs is the key step to increase demand.

Tourism experts in the meeting said Uzbekistan has strong potential for Egyptian travelers. They highlighted its rich history, Islamic heritage, and cultural links with the region. Many Egyptian tourists are showing more interest in new destinations with cultural and historical value.

Industry representatives said demand for travel to Uzbekistan is already growing slowly. However, high airfare remains the main barrier. They believe charter flights could solve this problem by offering lower and more flexible prices. This could open the door for group tourism and package tours.

Egyptian tourism companies are already working to promote Uzbekistan. Some agencies are partnering with social media influencers to raise awareness. These influencers are helping to show the country’s landmarks, culture, and travel experience to wider audiences.

A familiarization trip is also planned for June. A group of travel influencers will visit Uzbekistan to explore tourist sites. They will share their experiences online and help create new travel packages. This is expected to boost interest among younger travelers.

In addition, a major tourism and investment event will take place on May 10 in Cairo. It will be held at the Uzbekistan embassy. The event will present tourism opportunities and investment options. It is also expected to help both sides sign new cooperation agreements.

Officials said this event could play an important role in strengthening Egypt Uzbekistan tourism ties. It will bring together travel companies, investors, and government representatives. The goal is to build long term cooperation and develop new tourism routes.

Experts said tourism can also support economic growth in both countries. More visitors mean higher spending on hotels, transport, food, and services. This can create new jobs and support small businesses in the tourism sector.

They also said cultural exchange will improve through stronger travel links. Tourists from both countries will learn more about history, traditions, and local life. This can help build stronger people to people relations.

Travel analysts said charter flights are often the fastest way to boost new tourism routes. They reduce costs, increase seat availability, and attract group travelers. If successful, the model could be expanded in future years.

Officials from both sides said they are committed to continuing discussions. They aim to finalize agreements that can support regular travel flows. They also want to ensure that tourism growth is stable and long lasting.

The talks show a clear effort to strengthen Egypt Uzbekistan tourism ties. Both countries see tourism as a key area for cooperation and economic benefit.
