Juventus sack Igor Tudor after eight-game winless streak

Juventus have dismissed head coach Igor Tudor following an eight-match winless run across all competitions, the club announced on Monday.

“Juventus FC announces that it has today relieved Igor Tudor of his duties as coach of the men’s first team, along with his staff,” read a statement from the club. Massimo Brambilla, coach of the reserve side, will take temporary charge.

Tudor, appointed in March to replace Thiago Motta, became Juve’s first foreign manager since Didier Deschamps in 2006–07. A former Juventus defender, he spent nearly a decade at the club as a player, winning two Serie A titles and reaching a Champions League final.

Although he guided the team to fourth place and Champions League qualification last season, Juventus’s form collapsed this autumn. After opening the new campaign with three league wins, they went eight games without victory — including defeats to Como, Real Madrid, and Lazio.

Following Sunday’s 1-0 loss in Rome, Tudor admitted: “We prepared the match well, but we’re still missing something. We’re all responsible for this difficult period.”

The decision marks Juve’s earliest managerial change in a season since 1969. The club, now eighth in Serie A and goalless in four consecutive matches, will face Udinese next as they try to halt their slide.
