The team created a peptide that prevents alpha-synuclein, a key protein in Parkinson’s, from misfolding. Misfolded alpha-synuclein is known to damage brain cells and drive disease progression.

    In laboratory and animal tests, the peptide successfully stabilized the protein and stopped the disease from advancing.
