HONOR Egypt manufacturing is set for a major expansion as the company moves to grow its smartphone production in Egypt. The plan is part of a wider effort to turn Egypt into a strong regional hub for electronics and mobile devices. The project is also expected to create around 1,000 skilled jobs and support the country’s growing tech sector.

Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Raafat Hendy, recently met senior executives from HONOR. The meeting focused on expanding local smartphone manufacturing and improving production capacity inside the country. Officials from key bodies also joined the talks. These included the National Telecom Regulatory Authority, the Information Technology Industry Development Agency, and Etisal Trading, which is HONOR’s official distributor in Egypt.

The main goal of the discussions was to scale up HONOR Egypt manufacturing through its existing facility in 10th of Ramadan City. The factory is being developed in partnership with Etisal Trading. Both sides aim to increase production and bring advanced manufacturing systems to Egypt. This will help build a stronger local electronics industry.

HONOR shared its plan to expand mobile phone production in Egypt as part of its global strategy. The company wants Egypt to become a key base for operations in the Middle East and Africa. The focus is on producing high-quality smartphones at competitive prices for the local market. At the same time, the company also plans to increase exports under the “Made in Egypt” label.

The meeting also reviewed how to improve production lines at the factory. Experts discussed the use of advanced manufacturing tools and modern technology systems. A key focus is knowledge transfer. This means training local workers and sharing global expertise with Egyptian talent. The aim is to build long-term skills in the smartphone industry.

The government has confirmed its support for a full mobile manufacturing ecosystem in Egypt. This includes partnerships with global tech companies like HONOR. The project is supported by the Egypt Makes Electronics initiative. This program encourages local production and offers incentives to attract investment. It also helps create jobs and supports innovation in the tech sector.

Etisal Trading said HONOR’s investment shows strong confidence in Egypt’s business environment. The company noted that this is HONOR’s first overseas manufacturing facility outside China. This step is seen as a major milestone for HONOR Egypt manufacturing and for Egypt’s industrial growth.

The factory in 10th of Ramadan City is currently in its trial phase. It is expected to open officially before the end of the year. The facility covers about 8,000 square meters. It includes advanced production lines and surface-mount technology systems used in electronics manufacturing.

When fully active, the factory will have the capacity to produce up to three million smartphones per year. This high output will help meet both local demand and export needs. It will also strengthen Egypt’s position in the global electronics supply chain.

Job creation is another major benefit of the project. Around 1,000 skilled jobs are expected to be created. These jobs will include roles in production, engineering, and technical support. This will help develop a stronger workforce in Egypt’s technology sector.

HONOR also highlighted its focus on innovation. The company is known for its research and development work in smart devices. It also invests in AI-powered smartphone features. The Egypt facility is expected to support these technologies through local production and testing.

Officials believe the project will help Egypt become a leading hub for electronics manufacturing in the region. It also supports the country’s long-term goal of growing its digital economy. By attracting global companies, Egypt aims to increase exports and reduce reliance on imports.

The partnership between HONOR, Etisal Trading, and Egyptian government agencies shows a strong public and private sector effort. It reflects a shared plan to grow the tech industry step by step. Experts say this kind of cooperation is important for sustainable industrial growth.

With new technology, skilled workers, and strong government support, HONOR Egypt manufacturing is expected to play a key role in shaping the future of Egypt’s electronics industry.
